SLQ notes the church was Anglican. But title deeds indicate that the Wesleyan Methodist Church purchased a block of land in Thargomindah in 1901 (Certificate of Title 143662)

Notes on rear of copy of photograph after eaten by goats states:

This was once the House of Worship of the Methodist community of Thargomindah. It was built of grass in 1905 by the late Mr James White, father of Mr Ray White, real estate agent. It had a earth floor, and was furnished elaborately. In 1908 goats came. The grass had been well cured by the sun and soon the walls were stripped.
