| The church which is Gothic in style and measures 45 by 23 ft differs but little externally from the average wooden building used for divine worship. Light is admitted and ventilaton supplied by ten ordinary frosted windows. The gable in the front elevation is provided with a circular window of coloured glass in two tints. Under gaslight one of these softens down to a crystal faintess. Seating accommodation is provided for 150 persons. The main auditorium is fitted with five incandescent gas burners. The contractor was Mr C Fleetwod, of Rockhampton. The total cost of the work including fencing, organ, &cc., wasa £340, our present debvt £200. By purchasing the building from the Methodists we effected a considerable saving, a saving of at least £100. (Queensland Baptist 1 Sept 1902) |
