Old Rainworth Fort is located 10 km south of Springsure in central Queensland. It was built in 1862 as a fortified structure following a massacre in the previous year on the nearly Cullin-La-Ringo Station. The building was constructed as store that could be defended in the event of an attack. It is a rare and unusual part of Queensland’s heritage.
